The specific function of optical fiber distribution frame
In recent years, in the actual work of optical communication construction, through the comparison of the use of several products, we believe that the selection of optical fiber distribution frame should focus on the following aspects.
(1) Core capacity
An optical fiber distribution frame should be able to complete the optical cable with the largest number of cores in the office. If possible, several optical cables with more interconnections can be installed in one frame to facilitate optical path deployment. At the same time, the capacity of the distribution frame should correspond to the series of general optical cable cores, so that the waste of capacity of the optical fiber distribution frame due to improper matching can be reduced or avoided during use.
(2) Types of functions
As the terminal equipment of the optical cable line, the optical fiber distribution frame should have 4 basic functions.
After the optical cable enters the rack, the outer sheath and reinforcing core shall be mechanically fixed, ground wire protection components shall be installed, end protection shall be performed, and the optical fibers shall be grouped and protected.
After the optical fiber drawn out of the optical cable is spliced with the pigtail cable, the redundant optical fiber is coiled and stored, and the fusion splices are protected.
Plug the connector on the pigtail cable to the adapter, and connect with the optical connector on the other side of the adapter to realize the optical path docking. Adapters and connectors should be able to be plugged and unplugged flexibly; optical paths can be freely deployed and tested.
Provides storage for various cross-connected optical cables between racks, allowing them to be placed neatly. There should be appropriate space and method in the optical fiber distribution frame, so that this part of the optical connecting line is clearly routed, easy to adjust, and can meet the requirements of the minimum bending radius.
With the development of optical fiber network, the existing functions of optical fiber distribution frame can no longer meet many new requirements. Some manufacturers add some optical fiber network components such as optical splitters, wavelength division multiplexers and optical switches directly to the optical fiber distribution frame. In this way, even if these components are easily applied to the network, they add functionality and flexibility to the optical fiber distribution frame.
